Abdul El-Sayed to Governor Snyder: Don't give corporations more control of our government

***MEDIA RELEASE***

[Detroit, MI] — “Today, the Michigan State House passed a package of bills that would open the door to unlimited political contributions from corporate backers and super-rich donors.

This bill - dubbed 'Citizens United on Steroids' - will drive the corporate takeover of our politics, tightening the chokehold corporations and the rich have over a government that is supposed to benefit us all. It's another win for the wealthy and entrenched over the rest of us in a state that is less transparent and less accountable than any other state in the union.

Governor Snyder must veto this package of bills. If I replace him, I'll fight for campaign finance reform in Michigan that loosens the chokehold corporate interests have on our politics."

— Abdul El-Sayed, Democratic Candidate for Governor
